Lake District Lead Rock Climbing

Bespoke climbing courses in the Lake District

For those who have climbed before (whether indoors or outside) and now want to develop the skills required to become fully self-sufficient on trad climbs, our fully qualified instructors provide a rock climbing course which will take you through your first lead, show you how to perform simple rescues and help to improve your movement skills. The exact content of the day is entirely focussed on meeting your specific requirements.

What is it?

Our Lake District lead climbing course is designed to let you relax and enjoy your time, taking in the wonderful views of the Lake District and by the end of the course, you will be confidently leading your own outdoor routes, amazed at how much you have progressed! Our aim would be that by the end of this lead climbing course you will be happy to lead and look after your partner during the climb. We will teach you how to place gear and assess its safety. You'll also be taught to build safe belays and simple problem solving, as well as the skills required to understand the guidebooks and get yourself back down safety.

Do I have to have climbed before?

Yes, either indoors or outside. If you're a complete beginner why not begin by trying our rock climbing taster session.

Who teaches us?

Our highly trained and AMI certified instructors have years of experience teaching climbers all the necessary skills required to lead climb safely. They are all proven climbers with a true passion and love for their sport. They have climbed extensively both in Britain and abroad and have the experience and knowledge to make your day truly memorable. They will hold the MCI (Mountaineering Climbing Instructor formally MIA) Award, which is the top summer mountain award in the UK.

Mobile Adventures expert instructors will take the worry out of your transition to being at the sharp end of the rope. You should leave this course with a sound understanding of the principles of leading and the necessary knowledge of placing protection that will open up an endless horizon of great climbing opportunities for you to enjoy in the future.
