Lake District Kayaking Taster on Derwent Water
Kayaks are boats originally developed by the Inuits for hunting and traveling across the sea. Derwent Water (or Derwentwater) is often voted the prettiest lake, close to Keswick and surrounded by the hills of Skiddaw, Cat Bells and Borrowdale. The sheltered coves and islands, along with an abundance of wildlife, make this a fantastic lake to explore by kayak or canoe.
The Mobile Adventure fleet of kayaks provides you with the perfect way to unwind and enjoy a few hours and to explore the lake. Derwentwater is ideal for water sports including canoeing and kayaking - there are four islands plus lakeshore coves to explore, as well as some jumps for the more adventurous! Mobile Adventures' lake kayaking sessions allow you to enjoy this stunning part of the Lake District at your own pace and truly appreciated the peace and quiet of our amazing location, 15min drive from the busy town of Keswick.

Here in the Lake District, we obviously have a lot of water which is great for kayaking and canoeing activities. If you have already explored the lake, the rivers connecting the lakes together are another great Lake District canoeing challenge! Near Keswick we run a full day river trip in either canoes (suitable for total beginners) or kayaks for those who have a little previous experience.
For those who want to explore the lake in a VERY different way, we offer raft building activities - no promise of getting very far...!
