Rock Climbing Progression / Multi Pitch Climbing Days in the Lake District

During this rock climbing course we aim to give you a solid grounding in outdoor rock climbing, including selecting basic anchors, and some simple rope systems to keep both yourself and your climbing partner safe. Your instructor will also aim to guide you up a classic multi pitch route, so that you can experience all that outdoor climbing can offer.

Who is it for?

Anyone who wants to improve their outdoor rock climbing! Our rock climbing courses are adjusted to suit the clients, and may take advantage of any one of the amazing Lake District crags - Black Crag, Raven Crag, Gimmer Crag being a few of our favourites. What is it?

A full day of intensive Rock Climbing! Starting from the absolute basics of tying into the rope and improving your belaying, we will cover anchor placement, different climbing equipment, and go off on any skills tangents that crop up along the way. After improving your technique on a number of singles pitch routes, we will talk about and then tackle the peak of outdoor climbing, multi pitch routes, up to 80ms long, that will put your newfound skills to the test.

Do I have to have climbed before?

To ensure that you get the most from the day, we would expect that you would have climbed before, either indoors or outside. If you're a complete beginner why not begin by trying our 1/2 day rock climbing taster session.

Who teaches us?

All our team are proven rock climbers with a true passion and love for their sport. They have all climbed extensively both in Britain and abroad and have the experience and knowledge to make your day truly memorable. They will hold the MCI (Mountaineering Climbing Instructor formally MIA) Award, which is the top summer mountain award in the UK. We take pride in only employing local instructors who will tailor the day perfectly to your needs using their extensive knowledge of all the rock climbing crags in the area.
