Intermediate Navigation Course

"On completion of this award participants will be able to plan and follow walks in the countryside away from paths and tracks".

If you have done some navigation already but would like to learn more or perhaps you struggle when you leave the paths behind? If so then this day long intermediate navigation course will provide you with the knowledge and practice needed to improve your confidence in those trickier navigation situations.

You will get plenty of opportunities to practice these new skills over a variety of terrain in Cumbria. If you currently lack the confidence to go into the mountains away from the main tracks, then this is the course for you.

What are the pre-requirements for this course?

You must have some mountain walking experience and be confident out in the fells.

We aim to teach you the fundamentals and finer points of navigation so that you feel confident to go out into the mountains and leave the crowed footpaths behind, and get yourself safely home at the end!

Navigation Courses

Mobile Adventure use fully qualified Mountain Leaders to deliever all our navigation courses. These range from the bronze award covering basic navigational skills through to the gold award in which an individual has to show competence in all aspects of navigation.

Our courses are tailored to meet the abilities of each individual to enable them to gain the highest award possible.

Any of these courses are a great way to enjoy the stunning beauty of the Lake District, whilst learning some vital mountaineering skills, which will definitely enhance your future walking experiences.

Over the duration of the course we expect to climb some of the classic mountain peaks like Scafell, the Langdale Pikes and Helvellyn whilst also visiting some less well trodden paths and peaks.

A must for mountaineers, scramblers, aspirant mountain leaders and walking group leaders who wish to improve or learn from scratch.
