Ghyll scrambling - Featured on BBC1's Country File!
Impossible to describe and impossible to forget! Ghyll scrambling is always one of the favourites and involves descending a Lake District mountain stream under the safe guidance of our experienced instructors. The descent will include slides, dives and even jumping down waterfalls and is guaranteed to have you buzzing with adrenalin by the finish. Your instructor will guide you down the ghyll ensuring your safety and maximising your enjoyment of a truly great experience!
As standard Mobile Adventure provides all our clients with well fitting, full length high quality wetsuits, spray jackets and helmets to ensure that you maximise your enjoyment of the experience.
NEW FOR 2011 For groups of 4 or less, Mobile Adventure will aim to include 'the gorge' - a section that requires the use of ropes to descend safely. (Due to time constraints, this is not offered to larger groups.) This section will only be tackled if the instructor deems it safe with due regard to the water level and group speed. We are currently the only company to offer this as standard, and it makes an amazing ghyll even more unforgettable!
Mobile Adventure have expert knowledge of many ghylls in the area, and take great pride in providing the perfect sessions depending on each groups specific requirements. Whether you want to work on team building or are simply after an adrenaline rush we have the ideal ghyll scramble for you!

Typical itinerary
- 9.00am
- Meet at the bottom of the ghyll scramble and introductions.
- 9.15am
- Kit up with wetsuits, waterproofs and helmets before heading to the start.
- 9.45am
- Enter the water and scramble, slide and jump our way down.
- 12pm
- Complete the ghyll scramble, dry out and warm up!
