BCU Star Awards

Are you a regular paddler of kayaks or open boats looking to improve your skills? Whether you are a flatwater paddler looking to make the transference to rivers, or a more experienced boater we can provide a course tailored to meet your specific requirements.

The BCU (British Canoe Union) is the governing body for canoeing and kayaking and as such issue the nationally recognised qualifications in these disciplines. The star awards range from one to five and are prerequisites for anybody interested in the BCU coaching courses.

Forthcoming Courses

BCU 1* September 11th, 12th.
BCU 2* September 18th, 19th: October 16th, 17th.
BCU 3* White Water Kayak November 13th, 14th: December 4th, 5th.

Or any dates on demand.

All courses will only run if we attract the minimum workable numbers.

What happens on the course?

After a quick assessment of the group's abilities the day will involve learning or refining skills either on the lake, or on one of the North Lakes beautiful rivers. The aim of the course will be to improve your skills in a practical and fun environment, with the potential to gain a relevant star award. This course is ideal for competent paddlers who are looking to improve their overall skill level, or trying to gain star awards.
